homework workshop 2

Hi Somebody or everybody, I would like to tell you that I believe technology plays an important role in the way we teach English and the fact that we have an expert force us to take advantage of this great opportunity. Personally, i take my students at leats once or twice a month to the computer room to somehow tell the students that they have a resource that can really help them to improve their English. What I do is just showing them a few web pages that have helped me personally. So technollogically speaking that's what I do.

Having students for two consecutive periods has its prons and cons. Students can get really attcahed to you as a teacher, because I'd had this particular experience. Students continue their learning experience, and find another teacher with different teaching methodology, less patient, less dynamic, and down ther road students just comment, teacher "I miss you", with this teacher is not the same. However, teachers are just diferent. And this is the good thing about working at the COlombo, the autonomy that is given to us. So having the same group for two levels, I believe could be a good thing if it is done appropiately.

The the Dynamic Instructional Design model.

The Dynamic Instructional Design model offers excelent ideas on how we could give our classes the spark that sometimes even ourselves as teacher need. It would be ideal to know the students personal perceptions, styles of learnign, multiple intellengies. strenghts, weaknesses. etc. This way we as teachers would be abel to prepare our classes better. To actually write on the board the ojectives of each class, is not what I really do each class. but I think it is important for the student s too know where they are going and what it's expected of them.

Clasroom enviroment, always plays an important part in the course of a class. How a TEACHER begins is or her class will always determined the outcome or end result of the class.

i usually begin each unit form t AIO series, by having a discuccion of the topic at hand. Geting students interested is always a challenge.
